Proxy Codman Farm Adventure!

August 2010-

Proxy Apparel uses fashion to entice its customers to think sustainably, not only in terms of fashion but their everyday lifestyles. With sustainability in mind, Proxy has joined forces with local farms to create a Fall Fashion Tour circuit, synthesizing the sustainable fashion and foods world into one big awesome awareness fest.

Over the past two months I have had the opportunity to visit the farm twice to learn about sustainable meat production and canoodle with a variety of cute critters.

Both the admission fees and store products are honesty policy--there is no fee police stationed at the quaint locally made collection boxes to ensure you have paid the proper amount of money.




In order to increase income, Codman Farms also loans their services (and farm equipment) to local fields and farms to till, cut or mow whatever needs a little maintenance.



Timid farm go-er carefully describes, in great detail, which pig is the momma and which one is the daddy.



Ducks were abounding at the farm the first time I went with the other proxy ladies. If you're in the market for a duck, feel free to stop on by--they give them away!
