July 10, 2008: In order to deal with skyrocketing rent prices, an attic space has been adapted into another room. The cramped a-framed space houses a recent college graduate and his cat for three hundred a month.

Tompkins Square, Brooklyn, NY

June 23, 2008:
Local teenagers skate at Tompkins Square basketball courts. The smooth surface allows the skaters to practice tricks in a secure environment.

Ricky Small

Feb. 2008: Portland, ME resident Ricky Small performs in an Allston basement with local Berklee band Flo. Small has recently been signed to Virgin Records and plans to spend the next year touring in California.

Italia

During the summer of 2007 I visited Italy and Greece with my father. I tended to shy away from taking pictures of mere monuments, seeing as they have been captured several times before and far better. While the art and architecture was awe inspiring and captivating, I spent most of my time documenting pigeon-human interactions in Venice and the surplus kitten population in Delphi. Only in heavily tourist trodden places can you see wild animals perfectly willing to perch upon one's shoulder or eat out of the palm of one's hand.

Atomic Ballroom Calamity

July 2007: Julian Mazzola plays the bass in Massachussets band Atomic Ballroom Calamity. This picture made the Boston Phoenix, but the editor mislabelled Mazzola as the bass guitarist for the headlining band Tony Danza and the Tapdance Extravaganza

Melt Banana

June 2007: Melt Banana plays at the Middle East with Doom Riders and Neptune. Songs ranged from 10 seconds to two minutes, each ending with a heavily Japanese accented "thank you" and quick bow.

Neptune

September 2006: Local band Neptune plays at the Great Scott. The band members are Allston residents who frequently play local venues in Cambridge, Allston and Boston. All instruments are created from scraps of metal and garbage.
